Data can be uploaded into the Environmental Data Platform either manually or by uploading a file. This guide will walk you through both options.
NOTE: Both options are currently only available on the web app.
From the Logs page, click on the log you’d like to upload data to. In this case, we’ll be uploading data to ‘Sample Log’.
Now click on 'Add Log Data'. Here, you’ll be able to choose between uploading data manually or uploading a file by clicking on ‘Add Log Data.’
💡 You can also click on the log you'd like to upload data to in the Compliance Calendar, then click "Add New Entry."
Adding Data Manually
Clicking on ‘Add Manually’ will open a pop-up where you can fill in your log values.
💡The log fields visible here were created in the process of setting up your log. For more information on how to create or edit a log, click here.
Once your data has been entered and saved, you’ll then be able to see the saved data under the 'Records' tab of that same log.
Uploading Data From A Spreadsheet
After clicking on ‘Add Log Data’, click on ‘Upload File.’
Here, you’ll be able to upload a spreadsheet containing your log data. The accepted formats are .csv, .tsv, .xls, .xlsx, .xml, and .txt. You’ll then be able to match the fields in your spreadsheet to the fields in Mapistry. If you would like not to upload a specific column, click on ‘Ignore this column.’
💡 To avoid errors in the upload process, make sure that the column names in your spreadsheet match the log fields in Mapistry.
Once you’re satisfied, click on ‘Review.’ You’ll then be able to see if there are any errors present in your data. If there are errors, they will be highlighted in red. Once satisfied, click on ‘Continue.’
Your data will then be visible under ‘Records.’
Filtering Records By Date Range
Click ' Filter Date Range ' to view log data from a specific date range. This will open a pop-up when you can enter the dates you'll like to see data from.
To export log data as a .xlsx file, first navigate to the log you would like to export. In this case, we will be exporting data from the Paint Log. To view your Records, which contains data that has been entered into the log, click on the log name.
Click on the 'Export' button.
Once the pop-up opens, click on 'Export.'
A download will begin and you'll then be able to view your downloaded data in a spreadsheet (.xlsx).
