Resources Types are categories that can be created within the Environmental Data Platform, making the ability to keep track of all your Resources, within a log, possible. Generators are an example of a Resource Type, with generator-1, generator-2, and generator-3 all being Resources.
Creating a Resource Type
To begin creating a new resource type, make sure you’re in the ‘Data Setup’ tab of your green navigation bar, then click on ‘Resources‘. Finally, click on the blue ‘Create New Resource Type’ in the top right corner of your screen.
Step 1: Basic Info
This is where you’ll be able to enter basic information about your Resource Type, like a name, description, and site association.
Note: Site Association associates each of your resources with a single site. Once Resources are added, this setting cannot be changed.
Step 2: Properties
This is where you can add a property to your Resource Type. Think of each resource property as a column header in your spreadsheet.
For example, the number field can be used to keep track of the weight of a given material by a resource (for example, paint coating)
Here we'll choose the Text field. If you'd like this field to be required, check the 'Required Field' box.
Once all your required properties have been added, click on 'Next.'
Step 3: Add Resources
Click on "Add Resource".
Enter the required values for your Resource.
Once you have entered your values, click on "Done."
Creating a Resource
To create a new Resource, click on your Resource Type from the list first.
Here, you can manually add a resource or upload it from a file by clicking "Add Resources."
If you would like to delete or edit a Resource, click on the three dots under "Actions."
Note: Once data has been logged with a resource, you will not be able to delete the resource.
